We sat down with Stacey Plant, assistant director of the Spa at Camelback Inn, to talk about the transformation, the experiences setting the spa apart, and why this desert sanctuary continues to be one of the Southwest's most beloved wellness destinations.
KNESKO: The new Camelback Inn Spa is incredible. Tell us about the transformation journey!
The renovation began in November 2024 and culminated in our full reopening in March 2026. Along the way, our goal has always been to build upon the spa's rich legacy. Every detail was thoughtfully considered to preserve the serenity, warmth, and desert-inspired character guests know and love, while introducing modern touches that elevate the experience. We’re so proud of this space, where guests come to reconnect, restore, and experience the unique beauty of the Sonoran Desert.
Arizona is home to so many amazing spas. What are some features special to The Spa at Camelback Inn?
One of the most distinctive additions is our Wellness Waters, a neutral-temperature hydrotherapy environment intentionally designed to integrate the body, calm the mind, and promote recovery.
Unlike traditional hot-and-cold thermal experiences, Wellness Waters provides a balanced, restorative setting that encourages guests to slow down, reconnect, and extend the benefits of their spa journey. Guests can move seamlessly between rejuvenating experiences, including contrast bathing, which combines hot and cold water therapies to stimulate circulation, support recovery, and leave the body feeling energized and renewed.

What are some of your premiere treatment services provided?
There are so many spa treatments to choose from! I’ll share two of my personal favorites: the Juniper Sage Grounding Massage ($270, 60 minutes) and the Sonoran Rose Facial ($300, 60 minutes).
Our signature Juniper Sage Grounding Massage is a guest favorite for those seeking deep relaxation and renewal. Using purifying juniper sage oil and warmed salt stones, this light-to-medium pressure massage helps release muscle tension while supporting the body's natural detoxification process. Grounding techniques are incorporated throughout the treatment to clear energetic static, restore balance, and leave guests feeling centered and deeply restored.
The Sonoran Rose Facial is one of our most sought-after skincare experiences. This luxurious treatment combines rose and gold extracts with the healing properties of rose quartz crystals to calm the skin and restore radiance. Innovative reparative formulas deeply hydrate and soothe while reducing inflammation and irritation. Guests love that it delivers visible results while also providing an incredibly relaxing and uplifting experience.
Along with the Wellness Waters, what else do you recommend guests indulge in while at the spa?
You can imagine that, with 32,000-square-feet, there’s so much to explore in our spa grounds. Spa guests have access to the entire space. A popular option—especially in the summer months and those seeking revitalization—is “The Chill Experience.” This is a refreshing, cold-water immersion experience.
We also offer “Contrast Bathing,” which alternates between warm and cold water experiences. This practice stimulates circulation, supports recovery, helps reduce muscle tension, and awakens the senses. The contrast between temperatures encourages the body to adapt and recover while creating a profound sense of physical and mental rejuvenation.
And of course, there is “The Still.” Balancing the energy of the cold-water experiences is The Still, a tranquil soaking environment designed for relaxation, reflection, and restoration. Surrounded by the serenity of the desert landscape, The Still invites guests to pause, breathe deeply, and fully embrace the present moment.
